Mellor & Rose - Hand Lettering Artists and Calligraphy Workshops

We're Mellor & Rose Calligraphy; Calligraphers and modern lettering tutors based in Leafy Lytham St Annes, North West of England. We host Modern Calligraphy, Brush Lettering and Chalk Lettering Workshops here in Lancashire, Merseyside & Yorkshire at a whole variety of venues and we're broadening our scope to reach as many calligraphy fans as we can! If you fancy joining us for a spot of calligraphy and lettering, whether a total beginner or pretty familiar with a dip pen, we'd be delighted to hear from you! Plus, we hand letter chalkboards and mirrors along with stationery for weddings such as envelopes.

All our Beginners & Introductory workshops at Mellor & Rose Calligraphy include the relevant Starter Kit to use both in the workshop and take home to practice with along with the all important refreshments!

We also host Follow-on & Intermediate workshops where new stationery is provided and advanced techniques are taught.

Along with our regular workshops at our venues, we offer Private Lettering Parties for a minimum of 6 people hosted at your home or friend's home.

We also offer Gift Vouchers for our workshops - valid at any venue for 12 months.

To book your spot at any of our Mellor & Rose Calligraphy workshops:

Step 1. Get in touch via link below or email Lucy Mellor at mellorandrose@icloud.com - simply let us know the date of the workshop and how many booking onto the workshop.

Step 2. Deposit invoice of £12pp/ £15pp is sent to your email via Paypal before the workshop to confirm your spot.

Step 3. An email is sent to you 48 hours before the workshop confirming your spot, the venue and time. No need to bring anything as Starter Kit & Refreshments are provided.

Step 4. Workshop time! Remaining balance (£30/ £40) is paid on the day. Workbooks available to purchase on the day as a practice follow-on guide with new designs templates to keep your hand flowing even after the session.

Deposits are non-refundable but are transferrable to a different workshop if 48 hours notice given.

"I began with the beginners calligraphy and enjoyed it so much I came back for the brush and chalk calligraphy workshops.
I have never done calligraphy before but had always wanted to learn. The classes only have a few students which is great as it’s a more intimate group. Beverley is a great teacher, she has such a calming influence and breaks the workshop down into easy steps. Brilliant as a creative afternoon and also great as a mindfulness activity.
If that’s not enough, there is always a break for coffee and a cake. Cannot recommend these workshops enough!"
