DESCRIPTION:The Joy of Calligraphy\n08.09.24\nWe’re delighted to be hosting our Beginners Modern Calligraphy workshop with our friends at Eden Tearoom and Galleries in Wigan\, Greater Manchester on Sunday September 8th from 10am – 12:30pm! £69 (same price as 2023) \nAll our Workshops are suitable for Complete Beginners and Intermediates (if you’ve picked up a dip pen before) as we work through the core fundamentals of Modern Calligraphy. Guided by expert tutors; Beverley Mellor and Lucy Mellor\, we’ll begin by learning the core fundamentals of Modern Calligraphy; how to hold the dip pen\, pressure strokes and rhythms that give calligraphy its characteristic contrasting strokes before moving onto learning the upper and lower case alphabet\, how to link letters\, first words and phrases. We’ll also learn how to draw decorative illustrations and flourishes to complement our Calligraphy and Handlettering on luxe card stock and stationery pieces. Our new Intermediate Workshop is all about Flourishing & Gold Ink as we take Calligraphy to the next level.\n\nThis workshop is most suitable for those who have been to one of our Beginners Workshops. In this 2.5 hour Workshop\, we’ll learn how to improve your lettering technique; introduce the art of adding fabulous flourishing to your Calligraphy and (most excitingly!) how to work in metallic gold inks on beautiful coloured paper and card stocks.\nThe workshop is project based using our design templates and resources and we will learn how to design and address envelopes (so lovely to receive!)\, write place names\, gift tags and greetings cards!\n\n£59 bringing your pen from the Beginners | £69 with a new pen
