Modern Calligraphy Masterclass at Holden Clough Nurseries

Join Beverley Mellor and Lucy Mellor on our Modern Calligraphy Masterclass at Holden Clough Nurseries in the Ribble Valley (near Clitheroe) on Saturday February 26th from 12:30pm – 4pm.

In the Workshop, you will start from the very beginning covering the fundamentals of how to hold the dip pen, learning the pressure strokes that give Calligraphy its lovely and characteristic thick thin contrasting strokes along with rhythm. During the Workshop, you will learn the upper and lower alphabet, how to link our letters, first words and first phrases. You will then learn the exciting part of how to draw decorative illustrations and flourishes/ foliage to use with your Calligraphy, which complements our lettering and works beautifully on Stationery pieces.

During the second half of the the Workshop, we will also look at how to layout Greeting Cards, letter up and design a piece of Wall Art along with luxury Stationery Items for your Calligraphy. 

Included is a Personalised fully comprehensive Starter Kit with dip pen, nib and ink. Upper and lower case alphabet, letterforms, Wall Art, Decoratives and Stationery Items.
