Modern Calligraphy Workshop at Cass Art Liverpool

Join us at Cass Art Liverpool on our Beginners Modern Calligraphy Workshop on Saturday March 11th from 11am – 1:30pm!

Modern calligraphy is fun to learn and relaxing to practice. Join Mellor & Rose at Cass Art Liverpool City Centre (opposite M&S and next to The Bluecoat) on their Spring Modern Calligraphy Workshop get started with this mindful, creative pastime and art form.

Guided by expert tutors, you will begin by covering the fundamentals of how to hold the dip pen, learning the pressures and rhythms that give calligraphy its characteristic contrasting strokes before moving onto learning the upper and lower alphabet, how to link letters, first words and phrases. You will learn how to draw decorative illustrations and flourishes to complement your calligraphy lettering on stationery pieces. The second half of the workshop covers how to lay out greeting cards, letter up and design a piece of wall art along with luxury stationery items.

HOW TO BOOK?

To book your spot, simply get in touch with Lucy Mellor at mellorandrose@icloud.com or the BOOK button. Booking wise, we secure bookings with a £19 per person deposit sent via PayPal invoice to your email before the workshop with the remaining balance of £50 per person paid on the day. Deposits are non-refundable but are transferrable if notice is given 48 hours before the workshop.

We’re Mellor & Rose Calligraphy; Calligraphers and Lettering Artists based in Lytham St Annes, North West of England. Lovely modern calligraphy session with the M&R team last Thursday evening. Great pace & way of teaching, attention to detail, fabulous resources (and tea & biscuits), gorgeous people and we created some pretty amazing work for our first try!
