Full Day Calligraphy Workshop – Just Makers, Ripley Castle
Join us at Just Makers at Ripley Castle, Harrogate in North Yorkshire on our full day Calligraphy Workshop on Saturday August 28th from 10:30am – 4pm!
Modern calligraphy is fun to learn and relaxing to practice. Join Mellor & Rose at Just Makers at Ripley Castle, Harrogate in North Yorkshire on their Modern Calligraphy Workshop get started with this mindful, creative pastime and art form. In this full day Workshop, we’ll split the day into 2 halves; morning workshop and afternoon workshop. The morning workshop will be our complete Beginners Modern Calligraphy workshop from 10:30am – 1pm and the afternoon workshop is our Fine Brush Pen Calligraphy Workshop from 2pm – 4pm! £120
Guided by expert tutors, you will begin by covering the fundamentals of how to hold the dip pen, learning the pressures and rhythms that give calligraphy its characteristic contrasting strokes before moving onto learning the upper and lower alphabet, how to link letters, first words and phrases. You will learn how to draw decorative illustrations and flourishes to complement your calligraphy lettering on stationery pieces. We’ll also learn how to lay out greeting cards, letter up and design a piece of wall art along with luxury stationery items.

We’re Mellor & Rose Calligraphy; Calligraphers and Lettering Artists based in Lytham St Annes, North West of England. Lovely modern calligraphy session with the M&R team last Thursday evening. Great pace & way of teaching, attention to detail, fabulous resources (and tea & biscuits), gorgeous people and we created some pretty amazing work for our first try!
