Join us at Neptune Chester, Cheshire on our Christmas Calligraphy Workshop on Saturday November 11th from 11am – 1:30pm
Modern calligraphy is fun to learn and relaxing to practice. Join Mellor & Rose at Neptune Chester, Cheshire on their Christmas Modern Calligraphy Workshop get started with this mindful, creative pastime and art form.
Guided by expert tutors; Beverley Mellor and Lucy Mellor, you will begin by covering the fundamentals of how to hold the dip pen, learning the pressures and rhythms that give calligraphy its characteristic contrasting strokes before moving onto learning the upper and lower alphabet, how to link letters, first words and phrases. You will learn how to draw decorative illustrations and flourishes to complement your calligraphy lettering on stationery pieces. The second half of the workshop covers how to lay out greeting cards, letter up and design a piece of wall art along with luxury stationery items.

Booking wise, we secure bookings with a £19 deposit sent via PayPal invoice to your email before the workshop with the remaining balance of £50 paid on the day. Deposits are non-refundable but are transferrable if notice is given 48 hours before the workshop. We’re Mellor & Rose Calligraphy; Calligraphers and Lettering Artists based in Lytham St Annes, North West of England. Lovely modern calligraphy session with the M&R team last Thursday evening. Great pace & way of teaching, attention to detail, fabulous resources (and tea & biscuits), gorgeous people and we created some pretty amazing work for our first try!
