We’re delighted to be hosting our Beginners Modern Calligraphy workshop with our friends at CASS ART Liverpool in Liverpool City Centre, Merseyside on Saturday July 13th from 11am – 1:30pm! £69 (same price as 2023)
All our Workshops are suitable for Complete Beginners and Intermediates (if you’ve picked up a dip pen before) as we work through the core fundamentals of Modern Calligraphy. Guided by expert tutors; Beverley Mellor and Lucy Mellor, we’ll begin by learning the core fundamentals of Modern Calligraphy; how to hold the dip pen, pressure strokes and rhythms that give calligraphy its characteristic contrasting strokes before moving onto learning the upper and lower case alphabet, how to link letters, first words and phrases. We’ll also learn how to draw decorative illustrations and flourishes to complement our Calligraphy and Handlettering on luxe card stock and stationery pieces. The second half of the workshop covers how to layout our Stationery such as greeting cards and gift tags whilst learning to letter up and design a piece of wall art – exciting!

Booking wise, we secure bookings with a £19 deposit sent via PayPal invoice to your email before the workshop with the remaining balance of £50 paid on the day. Deposits are non-refundable but are transferrable if notice is given 48 hours before the workshop. Lovely modern calligraphy session with the M&R team last Thursday evening. Great pace & way of teaching, attention to detail, fabulous resources (and tea & biscuits), gorgeous people and we created some pretty amazing work for our first try!
