Modern Calligraphy is fun to learn and relaxing to practice. Join us at Eden Tearoom and Galleries in Wigan near Parbold Village, Greater Manchester on our Christmas Modern Calligraphy Workshop this festive season and start your Calligraphy journey with this mindful, creative pastime and art form.
Guided by expert tutors; Beverley Mellor and Lucy Mellor, you will begin by covering the fundamentals of how to hold the dip pen, learning the pressures and rhythms that give calligraphy its characteristic contrasting strokes before moving onto learning the upper and lower alphabet, how to link letters, first words and phrases. You will learn how to draw decorative illustrations and flourishes to complement your calligraphy lettering on stationery pieces. The second half of the workshop covers how to lay out greeting cards, letter up and design a piece of wall art along with luxury stationery items.

Booking wise, we secure bookings with a £69 PayPal invoice to your email before the workshop. Bookings are non-refundable but are transferrable if 48 hours notice is given before the workshop.

We’re Mellor & Rose Calligraphy; Calligraphers and Lettering Artists based in Lytham St Annes, North West of England. Made up of Beverley Mellor, Polly Mellor and Lucy Mellor – Mellor & Rose is a family business who are passionate about sharing the Joys of Calligraphy and all the wonderful and creative benefits it brings. Lovely modern calligraphy session with the M&R team last Thursday evening. Great pace & way of teaching, attention to detail, fabulous resources (and tea & biscuits), gorgeous people and we created some pretty amazing work for our first try!
